The semi-finals of the Scottish Cup and Plate competitions were played at Glasgow Green on Saturday and Sunday 19th/20th March.

The first Men’s Cup semi-final was decided by a shoot-out. After a slow first half the game produced goals in the second, one each for Kelburne and Grove Menzieshill. The shoot-out was close too but Kelburne came out on top. They’ll play Edinburgh University in the Cup Final. Uni proved too strong for Clydesdale Western and won the second semi by 5-1.

On Sunday the first Women’s Cup semi-final was a Dundee derby with Wanderers facing Grove Menzieshill. Grove came out on top of this one. Dundee Wanderers had levelled the game at 1-1 early in the second half but they conceded two further goals as Grove eased to the win. Edinburgh University women, who had secured first place in the league the previous day, won the second semi-final to join their men’s team in having a final place. Western Wildcats scored an early opening goal and fought hard throughout the game but couldn’t hold out and finally went down by 3-1.

Going forward, I’m thinking that I’ll work fully from my Smugmug website. That’s where all the photos are anyway and that’s what you’re looking for.

So click here to go to Smugmug where you’ll find all the Scottish Cup and Plate semi-final photos and lots more.
