The 2018 Scottish Hockey Schools Finals were played at Glasgow Green on the afternoon and evening of 16th March. It was a bitterly cold day, but the players shrugged that off and put on a great show of hockey over no less than twelve matches. Personally I was frozen and struggling.

The most successful school of the day was Stewart’s Melville College who’s boys did the double, winning both the Open Cup and the S3 Cup. The enthusiastic Dollar Academy girls were winners of their Open Cup while the High School of Glasgow edged out George Watsons in the S3 Girls Cup. For a full report on the action visit the Scottish Hockey website.

I have photos from seven games, including all six from the main pitch, and all twelve presentation ceremonies. Full coverage of the Pitch 2 games was provided by Mark Pugh and photos from those games are on his website.

Thanks to the snow which blanketed the country, this BUCS Premier Division quarter final play off game was played on 11th March, a week later than originally scheduled.
For the Stirling the  start of the game was completely unlike their meeting with Durham Saints. This time it was the Clansnmen who made the fast start with three touchdowns in the first quarter. Swansea got back into the game in the second quarter as they pulled the half time score back to 27-14. They couldn’t keep the recovery going after half time though. Stirling eased to the win by 40-14 and the hope of holding on to last years championship is still alive.
